After two piano duo albums and the birth of the funk project No Steam, he is releasing a deep new album. Entre groove feutré et lyrisme mélancolique, le pianiste liégeois laisse parler une musique intime et lumineuse, portée par la complicité de partenaires d’exception et par l’élan sincère d’un artiste arrivé à pleine maturité.

NL : In zijn vijftien jaar in de Belgische jazzscene heeft Igor Gehenot veel van de wereld gezien: na twee albums met pianoduo’s en de oprichting van het funkproject No Steam, heeft hij een zeer persoonlijk nieuw album uitgebracht. Tussen ingetogen grooves en melancholische lyriek laat de in Luik geboren pianist zijn intieme en stralende muziek voor zich spreken, gedragen door de samenwerking met uitzonderlijke partners en door de oprechte passie van een artiest die zijn volle rijpheid heeft bereikt.

FR : Par le passé, les héros du jazz en région liégeoise étaient saxophonistes rarement pianistes. Depuis une vingtaine d’années, les choses ont bien changé : Eric Legnini à la fin des années ’80, Pascal Mohy dix ans plus tard, ont tour à tour incarné la génération montante, comme le fait aujourd’hui Igor Gehenot…

NL : In het verleden waren de helden van de jazz in de regio Luik saxofonisten, zelden pianisten.
