NL : Igor Géhénot (Luik °1989) begon op 6-jarige leeftijd piano te spelen en studeerde eerst klassiek en daarna jazz. Op 19-jarige leeftijd ging hij naar het Conservatorium van Maastricht en in 2009 trad hij toe tot het Conservatorium van Brussel, waar hij studeerde bij Eric Legnini. Het is dan dat hij zijn eerste trio vormt met Sam Gerstmans & Antoine Pierre, en speelt op het Dinant Jazz Nights Festival. Daarna komt alles in een stroomversnelling en zijn eerste bejulde plaat volgt in 2012.
Met zijn trio treedt Igor Géhénot op in de bekendste Belgische en buitenlandse festivals: Jazz à Vienne, Brussels Jazz Marathon, Gent Jazz Festival, EuroJazz Festival (Mexico City), Gaume Jazz Festival, EUJAZZ in Santiago (Chili), Igloo Jazz nights (Parijs), JazzTour LDH, London Jazz Festival, Dinant Jazz Nights, JazzLab Series … Hij is ook de pianist van de winnende band van de “Jeune Talent” competitie op de Leffe Jazz Night in 2012, het Lg Jazz Collective onder leiding van Guillaume Vierset.
Hij komt nu met zijn nieuw quartet naar de Jazzzolder met de voor ons zeer bekende Sal la Rocca, Steven Delannoye en Fabio Zamagni. Ze brengen een royaal repertoire van composities en herwerkte standards, geleid door vier sterke persoonlijkheden van de Europese jazz. Niet te missen!

EN : Igor Géhénot (Liège °1989) started playing the piano at the age of 6 and first studied classical and then jazz. At the age of 19 he entered the Maastricht Conservatory and in 2009 he joined the Brussels Conservatory, where he studied with Eric Legnini.
