An evening of autumn concerts signed by a quintet of talented artists SLR5 New Band Ex (Sal La Rocca) from 5 p.m.!

EN : Sal La Rocca, double bass player of Sicilian origin returns with a new, profoundly different project. We find there in quintet version, a brand new line-up with two musicians freshly landed in Brussels: Maayan Smith on tenor sax (replaced by Toine Thys for this occasion) and Umberto Odone on drums. It was during a jam that Sal discovered them and was seduced by their passion and energy. On the piano, it is the incomparable Igor Gehenot whose percussive sound tinged with Caribbean sounds serves up warm and inviting music. Phil Abraham, who collaborated on Sal’s latest album, introduces himself to the group with beautiful textures reinforcing the relief of the double bassist’s compositions. These latest, optimistic and groovy, are sure to put a smile on your face!

FR : Sal La Rocca, contrebassiste d’origine sicilienne revient avec un nouveau projet profondément différent. On y retrouve en version quintet, un tout nouveau line-up avec deux musiciens fraîchement débarqués à Bruxelles : Maayan Smith (pour cette occasion Maayan sera remplacé par Toine Thys) au sax ténor et Umberto Odone à la batterie. C’est lors d’une jam que Sal les découvre et est séduit par leur fougue et leur énergie. Au piano, c’est l’inégalable Igor Gehenot dont le son percussif teinté de sonorités caribéennes sert une musique chaude et avenante. Phil Abraham, qui a collaboré sur le dernier album de Sal, s’introduit dans le groupe avec de belles textures renforçant le  relief des compositions du contrebassiste. Ces dernières, optimistes et groovy, ne manqueront pas de vous donner le sourire !
