A brand-new quartet led by double bassist Sal La Rocca. With the pleasure and conviction to forge strong bonds between different generations of musicians, Sal chose very young talents living in Belgium. For this occasion, he created a new repertoire with original compositions — fine proof that a mix of generations can lead to brilliant results. Sal La Rocca hails from Seraing, Belgium, near Liège. He began his career as a rock guitarist but switched to the double bass after hearing a number of jazz greats play. He taught himself to play at the age of 23 and grew into one of the most sought-after double bassists in Belgium.
He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in jazz, both nationally and internationally: Lee Konitz, Harold Land, Philip Catherine, and Toots Thielemans. Sal became the bassist for the Steve Grossman Quintet at the Dinant Jazz Night Festival and later joined the Gregory Houben Quintet. He also formed a trio with American singer Denise King and French pianist Olivier Hutman.
In 2017 and 2018, Sal La Rocca gave several concerts with two well-known French musicians: Jacky Terrasson and Stéphane Belmondo (with whom he had previously played in 2003 and 2005), and in a quartet with the young and talented Belgian drummer Antoine Pierre. Throughout his career, he has recorded countless albums.
In 2003, he released his debut album “Latinea”. At the time, Sal was the regular bassist for singer Anne Ducros until 2007, when he became the bassist for the pop-rock band Vaya Con Dios.
His second album, “It Could Be The End”, was released in 2013 and featured various original compositions. His third album, “Shifted”,  in 2018, & the last one “Consenso” 2025.

Umberto Odone, born in 1993 in Treviglio, Italy, began drumming at the age of six. At eighteen, he was the first Italian drummer to graduate cum laude from the Scuderie Capitani Drum Academy with a perfect score of 30/30.
This marked the beginning of his professional music career and enabled him to teach drums, both at music schools and privately. In 2013, he graduated from the Batteria Maxxima of the Accademia del Suono in Milan, where he was taught by the renowned jazz drummer Maxx Furian (Randy Brecker, Mike Mainieri, etc.).
In 2016, he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Drums with a perfect score of 110/110 in Brescia, Italy. There, he had the opportunity to share the stage with Giovanni Falzone (Francesco Bearzatti, Massimo Colombo, etc.), Fausto Beccalossi (Al di Meola, etc.), Giulio Corini (Enrico Rava, John Abercrombie, etc.), Stefano D’Anna (Ben Monder, Larry Grenadier, etc.), Carlo Morena (Kenny Wheeler, Paolo Fresu, etc.), Tino Tracanna (Franco D’Andrea, Dave Liebman, etc.), and many others.
In September 2018, he moved to Belgium, where he pursued a Master’s degree at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. In June 2020, he obtained his Master’s degree in jazz drumming (cum laude), under the guidance of the highly regarded drummer Stéphane Galland (Joe Zawinul, Tigran Hamasyan, Ibrahim Maalouf, etc.).
He is involved in various musical projects in Italy and Belgium and works as a drum teacher in both countries.

Elly Brouckmans (1998, Belgium) is a jazz saxophonist from Brussels, where she is currently studying at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Thanks to her father, who was active in the amateur brass and big band scene, she had the opportunity to perform with large ensembles at a young age and attended countless jazz concerts, developing a passion for the genre early on.
In 2023, she graduated cum laude from the Luca School of Arts in Leuven, where she was taught by Frank Vaganée, Dré Pallemaerts, Peter Hertmans, and Jos Machtel. Today, she is a recognized instrumentalist on alto saxophone, flute, baritone saxophone, clarinet, and bass clarinet in the Belgian big band scene.
She collaborates with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, the Hnita Bigband, the Royal Belgian Marine Band, and Rebirth::collective, among others.
She has had the opportunity to share the stage with Gwilym Simcock, Camille Bertault, Tutu Puoane, and Dré Pallemaerts during concerts in jazz clubs and at festivals in Belgium and abroad. In addition to her work with big bands, she is a sought-after soloist in the Brussels jazz scene and participates in projects such as the Sal La Rocca Quartet, Double Madness, the Natasha Vew Quintet, the Eve Beuvens Quartet, and the Vincent Thekal Quartet, to name just a few.
She also leads her own trio, whose first EP will be released in the summer of 2026. She is co-leader of the group Mania, which was named a Propulsion Jazz laureate in 2026 and with whom she recorded their first album in March 2026.
